Love the website, this app isn't so great. See that preview window up above where you don't actually see comics, only nav buttons and a title line? Yep, that's what you see. I could actually see Matthew ripping into this.
We really like this app. Is there any "trick" to how the fish move? My deal is to bother them until they all go away, my wife "tickles" them -- she says it makes them hold still. And are there only three?
Curiously, sometimes the splashing sound works and sometimes not.
Its a shame this isnt being supported anymore. Would love to see pink or brown noises along with ither nature sound options. Also, the white noise has a strange artifact in it that is very obvious and extremely annoying.
Here we go again. Lots of "unable to connect to server" type messages for last few days, but then it started working again, at least enough to get some data from public timeline. So I tried to log in...
Now I get the "invalid user / password" over and over. This is both logging in on the chumby and on the Chumby website. Both fail with the same message.
It was working just a few days ago, and my kids are really bummed. Trouble shooting tips? Anything I can do at my end, or is it (as it appears) to be an authentication change at Twitter that Chumby hasn't caught up with yet?
Please report back here, and send e-mail if you can. There seem to be plenty of others with this problem...
Once again... The app is not working. I have been a 1st gen user of the Chumby for a long time, and I hope this not a signal of the end of development and support of the product or the apps.
Please resolve this issue quickly, the Holidays are here and I was going to gift a few Chumbys, but I am now forced to reconsider, as we are power Twitter users.
The app works well for me, but the white on yellow text is very difficult to read on a 3.5" screen. Consider higher contrast for text over background colors.
Chumby newbie here.
Do you have a step-by-step guide on how to configure this play flv files from the usb drive? Everyone keeps saying "edit the file location setting". Where is that and how do I edit it?
UNABLE TO CONTACT TWITTER SERVER...AGAIN. Folks, how hard can it be to keep a simple app like this RUNNING FOR MORE THAN A WEEK AT A TIME? Gad. Somebody must be asleep at the wheel at Chumby, they expect to sell these things and they can't keep probably the #2 US app running from day to day?
Ever since Chumby started showing ads on my device that only ran *TWO* apps total (time and weather), I had to find a solution, and this is it. Like previous comments, there is a bug that makes the month/day/date flash every 10 seconds or so when you use certain colors. And I would like to see a flashing colon between the hour and minute. A otherwise fantastic clock app.
I've always loved this app, and no matter how hard I try, I can never find the AccuWeather horoscope service _anywhere_ else but on my Chumbys. Like other's have said, it's SCARY accurate. I hope it can make a comeback!
what happens when you press the envelope button?? isnt it supposed to send an email somewhere?? where do we set it up to send an email of the article to someone?
Thanks for looking into the updating problem. I've since noticed that it is actually caused by Yahoo. Their website is sometimes very slow to update the weather data for overseas (Australian) locations. There is one way that we can workaround this annoyance. Instead of listing 'Today' and 'Tomorrow' in your widget, please state the actual name of the day ('Monday' and 'Tuesday') instead. This way, we'll know immediately whether Yahoo hasn't bothered to update the weather data for a few days. Another thing is that I'm hoping you can list the minimum temperatures in blue text and the maximums in red. It'd also be good if you can increase the font size of those temperature texts.
A shuffle is a good idea. I do sometimes see my same pictures a lot. I will look into the smugmug rss feeds and see what is possible. As it is right now, it just grabs items from the rss feed which is in chronological order.
This application functions very well, but I think its layout needs improvement. I don't see why the current weather text and graphic needs to be so massive, since we already know what's going on outside at the moment. Shrinking this stuff would provide room for more weather forecast days to be shown.
Speaking of which, I don't think we need anything more than the graphic and temperature extremes for the forecasts. Removing the textual description would help to unclutter the interface and permit more days to be shown. I also think that the font size of the forecast information should be larger.
The other thing I want to see is coloured text. You should list the maximum temperatures in red and the minimums in blue. In order for this to work, you might need to change the background from yellow to white. What is your opinion about all of this? Are you happy to implement it or should I?
Worked fine for a long time to let me monitor an app of mine that posts weather information. Hasn't worked now for weeks, and won't let me log in so that I can see my tweets.
My clock applications are correctly showing that today is November 15, but your Yahoo! Weather application still thinks today is November 12.
This means that it's displaying the weather information for the wrong days, which is totally useless. How long will it take you to fix this problem?
Yes all but the MC Lower are live. They stopped the MC Lower cam last year, but I don't have Flash installed on my PC right now so I can't update the widget to remove that one. I will try to update it soon though
Just recently got a chumby8, and wanted to say thank you for creating Clockzilla. It's genius, as even squinting I have little chance of reading a normal alarm clock without my glasses on. Clockzilla is a perfect solution, and I can tell the time easily without my glasses.
Running this app on an Insignia 8, it's working very intermittently, but mostly not working. Just displays a "Loading" screen for a few seconds, then on to the next app. I would really like to use this; it's the main reason I got the device.
The only thing I wish it had was the ability to popup a window to enter passwords for my password protected web pages. I love the fact that the app is in Kiosk mode so you have no borders.
Something is wrong with the way you guys send passwords. It didn't seem to handle my old password (which had `, $, &, and / in it.) I'm guessing you aren't correctly URL encoding them.
The temperature no longer works for me here in Oklahoma. I get 00f instead of the actual temperature.
Love it beyond that, simple, clean, easy to read. Just need the weather working again for it to be perfect.
I fixed a possible memory leak and did some cleanup on the image loading. The configuration dialogue box can now be closed/cancelled by touching the map. Please report any issues you find (or request additional features) on the Google code site mentioned above. Thank you.
I'm stoked to see such interest in this app. Obviously, the beauty lies in its raw simplicity and the plethora of possible website destinations (whether already existing or created by you ;). Like many of you, I share(d) the same vision where this could show a webpage and yet still "cycle" automatically. Alas, that is still not a feature that can be added without modification to, and the cooperation of, the Control Panel and firmware. The future is still unknown; as always, your comments are the primary fuel.
Hi, Clive.
This is the best Clock Widget ever!
how about updating it so it can be used on the Chumby 8.
There are a few others after this update as well.
Thanks if you can.....
@wicksken - I only updated the description, not the code on 10/24. Could you elaborate on what "it no longer works" means? I'm currently running the app on the Dash and it works fine. Please log more details of the issue on the google code site I have in the description above. One suggestion is delete the app and re-add it to your channel (the Sony device has issues periodically with having apps get corrupted.)
Excellent widget, however my photos are low resolution on the 8" chumbies. It would also be nice if there was a "play" symbol on the videos to distinguish itself from a photo. Thanks!
