Additional Terms of chumby industries’ Privacy Policy When Using the Sony Service
These additional terms of chumby industries’ Privacy Policy (“Additional Terms”) apply to you if you are using the services available at http://dash.chumby.com (the “Sony Service”) for the Sony Dash™ Personal Internet Viewer (the “Dash Device”), and these Additional Terms amend and are in addition to chumby industries’ Privacy Policy when using the Sony Service. Capitalized terms that are used but not defined in these Additional Terms shall have the meaning given to them in chumby industries’ Privacy Policy. chumby industries will process information provided by Sony in connection with your use of the Sony Service as specified below, in accordance with chumby industries’ Privacy Policy. Sony will process information provided by chumby industries in connection with your use of the Sony Service as specified below, in accordance with Sony’s Privacy Policy. Please be aware that the terms of chumby industries’ Privacy Policy do not apply to Sony, and the terms of Sony’s Privacy Policy do not apply to chumby industries.
- When you register for the Sony Service, Sony will provide your e-mail address and the electronic serial number of your Dash Device to chumby industries. Unless you provide such information directly to chumby industries or other third party, in which case chumby industries’ or such third party’s own Privacy Policy would apply, chumby industries does not have any independent right to share (except pursuant to a legal requirement such as a subpoena or warrant) your e-mail address or the electronic serial number of your Dash Device when associated with your e-mail address, or to use such information other than to provide, on behalf of or with Sony, the Sony Service and/or chumby industries’ services. When the electronic serial number of your Dash Device is not associated with your e-mail address, then chumby industries may disclose and use such electronic serial number in accordance with the terms of chumby industries’ Privacy Policy.
- When you add or modify the Apps/Widgets to a channel on your Dash Device using the Sony Service, chumby industries’ may collect your zip code, gender, and education attainment information if you choose to provide such information, and will provide such information to Sony. You expressly consent to chumby industries’ provision of this information to Sony.
- When you invite a Registered User to join your social group (e.g., your friends list) to send and/or receive content between your Sony Device and the other user’s device (each a “Social Group”), we will collect the unique identifier (e.g., username or email address) of the Registered User, and we will provide such unique identifier to Sony. You expressly consent to our provision of this information to Sony. When you invite a user registered with the Sony Service to join your Social Group, Sony will collect the unique identifier of the user, and Sony will provide such unique identifier to chumby industries.
- chumby industries is hosting the Sony Service on Sony’s behalf and will collect certain data regarding your usage of the Apps/Widgets on your Dash Device (e.g., what Apps/Widgets are on your channels, what music and video services/channels you play and how frequently), and chumby industries will provide such information to Sony. You expressly consent to our provision of this information to Sony.
